Jan 10th ‘07: Recap On Fabulous Polo Club in Coasta Careyes Mexico

The Polo Report by Steve Crowder - Royal times in paradise again. Over the holidays just past, Dina Stuart decided to take her winning Governor’s Cup team to the Magic Kingdom and that’s not in Anaheim. This Polo Magic Kingdom is in Costa Careyes, Mexico.

Carnation Farms (Dina Stuart’s Team) was a 6- goal team in March. With the recent handicap changes her 6-goal team is now an 8-goal team. They had such a good time in Costa Careyes they thought they were 10-goals! “We had the the best time there.” said the Palomino (Jason Crowder). Joseph Stuart (Jofie) and Juan Ho (Juan Jose Gonzalez) said “it was awesome .”

Carnation Farms played polo and made it to the finals. They beat old San Francisco rival JP Theriot. They lost to a smoking Aguilar powered machine, but nobody even cared. They were having so much fun and they were on vacation! If you do not believe me and want to meet the World down south which is only 2 hrs. away go there. There were players Mexico, Peru, Argrntina, Germany, England, Portugal, Italy, England and of course the USA. If you like to play polo, party, sunbath, swim, fish, play golf, or tennis then Costa Careyes is the place to go.

There is another great tournament in 2 weeks at Coasta Careyes. Let us know if you want to get out of the cold and try a trip to the Polo Kingdom in Mexico. You might even come home with some cash. I saw in the paper today on Alaska airlines RT for $280 bucks. So be free and see the world of this fabulous polo wonderland and play POLO. Look it up on www.careyes.com and book it.

Jan 14th ‘07: Ice Walking In The Desert.

The Polo Report by Steve Crowder. It was not really that much fun here this past weekend. It was so cold on the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego. It was ice cold and for sure it was time to be in the Magic Kingdom of Costa Careyes Mexico where it was 85 F with a low of 72. Here in the desert it was like 50 and 15. I am exagerating a little on the 15 end, but it was very, very, COLD. Without a coat you were frozen solid, but Polo must go on and it did.

Today we started at 9:45 AM. It was Smokin’ Joe Henderson returns to the desert and he did burn Dudley’s house as Casa Blanca found he is back in town. He is playing with a young gun named Julian Mannix “Mini Mac.” He was an all out attack mode at all times. Julian wears a red helmet as he should as he is on fire and looking to team up with Little Mac (brother Frederick Mannix) soon. They are now 3 and 1 and looking for a showdown this Saturday as they meet the super B’s (Bilo Zarif and Bolko Kissling). The B’s are teamed up with the Palomino (Jason Crowder) and the Aussie Midget (Dirk Gould). They will be at war at the downtown cafe Phoneix. Friendly Chevy had a gunfight as two Patrons Lance Hughes and Gary Haydon fired away at the flagman often and they waved it up. Buttercup (Geri Dardi) and McPolo ran into a smokin’ Ed Pope and a charging Aspen Oaks and they loved the cold weather and butter just dies as it cannot run in this environment. Aspen Oaks goes to 3 and 1 or 2 and 2 (I am not 100% on this one). Empire Polo and Big Al continue to smoke the others as they rolled over Kentfield and JV ranch with Danny Brown showing the way. It was a hard-hitting Super B’s and a flying palomino out doing Augi (Agustin Zavaleta) and his La Mancha crew. Even with 6 players they fell behind as the “Thunder from Down Under” (Dirk Gould) kept up the case of heading to the final 4. Fish Creek 2 returned to the winners circle as they made it by True Choice. It was Joe Anthony (Rancho Amistad) with a major attack with the Wolfman (Ashton Wolf) and Alvaro being 4 and 0 headed to the final 4. It is the 10th anniversary at Rancho Amistad and Joe also has a very good Polo Club there. The “V” man (Vladimir Rivkin) with the Double Eagles returned to the winners circle and did away with JHHE on their way. He is amazing to see for a beginner. A big surprise or maybe a shock . . . it was Carnation Farms losing to Zippy as in Mr. Zeiring as he let them know he is still in town. In the 12-goal finals it was Dandy Dan Horn and his Palm Desert squad blowing out the boys from Storm Cat. Dan is back in a big way and he takes the first title of the year. Palm Desert is the first Champion in 2007 El Dorado-style. See ya this Friday.
