Bank Hofmann wins the La Estancia Polo Open 2006 in Budapest, Hungary

For the 3rd time four international polo teams came to Budapest to play in this year’s La Estancia polo open. Organized by the Zimmermann family and sponsored by famous polo supporters like Bank Hofmann, Mercedes Benz, Tom Tailor and Rynart Transport, the La Estancia polo open budapest is a firm date in the European polo calendar and one of the top social events in Hungary.
More than 1,000 spectators joined to watch these exciting polo matches and to enjoy the fun parties at the La Estancia polo club, when especialy the oriental night on Saturday was a big succes.
The 4 teams were formed by the following players:
Team Rynart: Rainer Windhager (Austria –1), Benedikt Abensperg-Traun (Austria-1), Dieter Erhart (Austria -1), Martin Orozco (Argentina +4).
Team Mercedes Benz: Georg Barisani (Austria –1), Richard Drasche (Austria – 0), Esteban Panelo (Argentina +4).
Team Tom Tailor: Uwe Schroeder (Germany –2), Diedrich Haesen (Germany – 0), Eduardo Anka (Argentina +5).
Team Bank Hofmann: Hans Georg Schiebel (Austria 0), Uwe Zimmermann (Germany-Hungary – 0), Santiago Marambio (Argentina +5).
At the end of the tournament, team Bank Hofmann with team captain uwe Zimmermann won the final with a clear 6:4 against team Mercedes Benz, while the 3rd place went to Tom Tailor after an impressive performance by Eduardo Anka and his team.
